The current flag of Kazakhstan was adopted on June 4, 1992, replacing the flag of the Kazakh SSR. The national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan looks as a rectangular breadth of blue colour with the sun in its center surrounded by 32 beams, and a steppe eagle soaring beneath. Near hoist is a vertical strip with a national ornament. Images of the sun, beams, eagle and ornament - are all gold coloured.
