NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORG. (NATO)

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a military alliance established by the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty on April 4, 1949.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its 26 member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party.
