The Latin American Parliament (Parlatino), is a regional, permanent and unicameral organism, integrated from the national Parliaments of Latin America, elected democratically by means of universal suffrage in countries that ratified the corresponding Treaty of Institutionalization on November 16, 1987 in Lima, Peru.
The admission of other members is the exclusive prerogative of the Assembly. Its headquarters are located in São Paulo, Brazil. Currently, there are 22 Member State parliaments represented at Parlatino.
